6U - 2016-2017 Non Contact - Play M/W -

The Jr. Tyke program is an introduction to lacrosse.  This is a house league but exhibition games can be arranged against other house mini Tyke teams. The game is played 3 on 3 half-court games to reduce cost and help develop skills.  There is one goalie per game, but all the players take turns trying out the position.  The tykes play with a smaller “rage cage” net.

Girls Lacrosse Info

For every age group mentioned above, there will also be a girls-only option.  If you are not interested in playing in the Co-ed League please select the Girls option when registering.

The 2022 season is the first season for the Girls-only league so please be patient with us at the beginning of this season.  We may have to combine zones and age groups for us to have something for the girls to participate in.  Please be assured that there will be something girls-only we just won't know what that looks like until registrations are in.

PLAYER EQUIPMENT

Lacrosse equipment is similar to hockey. If you are just starting out playing and you play hockey then you almost everything you need. Check out the image to see what you may need.

GOALIE EQUIPMENT

For players wanting to play goalie, your club may supply you with your protective gear. Speak to your coach at a pre-season camp about this.

BOX LACROSSE-PLAYING SURFACE

Box lacrosse is played on indoor hockey rinks with some different markings. These include a larger crease area and transition zones to name a couple.

This keeps the game moving and why it is called the fastest game on two feet.
